Educational QualificationsBachelors degree or equilent experience. Desired Education: Masters degree Experience Level: 4+ years as a DBA in any of the following RDBMS. Specifics of experience with Oracle 9i and 10g, Oracle RAC, Oracle RMAN on UNIX / LINUX system. Experience with Oracle on Intel based systems is a plus. Requirements- Complex Database Recovery
- Provide Problem resolution and Document solution
- Root Cause analysis of RDBMS issues
- Complex Problem Determination (RDBMS vendor interface)
- Advanced system analysis
- Resource / Capacity planning for customers
- Release / Feature recommendation for customers
- T&M estimates
- Advanced customer mentoring
- Documentation of tasks for assignment to appropriate work groups
- Complete all required event ticket documentation.
- Respond appropriately to event tickets with expediency required to meet service level agreements.
- Achieve expert level of competance in one RDBMS discipline.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in the capability of the monitor software (Patrol / directVIEW)
- Maintain broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise.
- Provide expert level troubleshooting skill for the support RDBMS and OS environments.
- Engineer database administration tasks and participate in ongoing process improvement.
- Create ad-hoc customer reports as requested; where indicated, engineer ongoing automation.
- Take requested out-of-scope tasks to CRM for handling.
- Provide support to CRM teams for customer service reviews. Manage/direct large scale RDBMS projects including but not Limited to upgrades and migrations.
- Provide direct support and mentoring to more junior team members
- Demonstrate “customer care” in handling of all communications.
- Show flexibility in handling variety of support requests.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
